Audio docs from ESPN. Sports stories like you've never heard before.
I helped start and served as host and senior producer/editor/manager for the "30 for 30" podcast series, launched in June 2017. We do two seasons of 4-5 original audio documentaries per year. Sometimes our seasons are on a variety of topics, sometimes they are multi-part takes on one story. It's all very exciting.
I also hosted the "30for30+" series of conversations with filmmakers, which you can find in the same podcast feed.
I had a hand in story development, sales strategy, live events, and contribute to larger conversations about podcasting efforts at ESPN.
We've received a large, enthusiastic audience; won some awards; and gotten some favorable press, including:
Sports Illustrated said it "might be the best thing ESPN has done in 2017"
New York Magazine says we have "distinct verve and pep."
Here's an interview with Longreads about our approach to the show.
An interview with The Wrap about our sixth season and more.
In addition to serving as producer and editor on all our projects, I occasionally get to report stories of my own. Those are below. But you should listen to all our work!
